I have seen so much conflicting advice about whether tenants pay a water bill in its entirety, or just the usage. I have tried the Tenant's Union of Vic, but the line has been engaged all day, not even a voicemail. My landlord (we have no formal lease) recently asked me to pay my share of a water bill (I was only living there for part of the quarter that the bill covered). After I paid it, i realised that I had paid not just the water usage, but the whole bill. I am in a flat which has its own meter, I think. I have never paid for anything except water usage in a rental property. Thank you! PS If it wasn't clear, I am in melbourne.
