hi all,

we have a small problem.

have been renting this house for about 9 months on a 12 month lease and last sept (about 5 months ago) our heating stopped working. it is a central heating unit which has to be replaced and the old one taken away from below the house which i believe will cost $2000+ so paying for it ourselves and seeking compensation is out of the question..i have kept in regular contact with the owner about fixing the problem in which he has been quite helpful and nice about and since it was summer, we have been lenient too about fixing it, but in the end we still have no heating as yet. i am in 2 minds of what to do..

the owner seems to be a nice guy so should i just leave the problem till he fixes it or,

… this is where i am looking for advice on what steps to take for maybe compensation or other ideas?
